WHO DOES YOUR ORGANIZATION SERVE?
Wings, A Grief Education Ministry, provides information and support to grieving families as well as those who care for the bereaved. We pride ourselves on being an international resource for grief education and encourage an individual's choice to heal through inspiration, compassion, and hope.
WHAT IS THEIR BIGGEST CHALLENGE?
As a griever, you still look the same on the outside, but inside you have changed. You dress the same. You talk the same, and may even hold the same job. But in many cases, you hide your pain. It doesn’t make any difference if the death was that of a white-haired, 85 year-old grandmother or a newborn infant or happy toddler. Or it could be the unexpected death of a young, healthy spouse. Or the death of a teenager or young adult in the prime of a “promising” future. You have lost someone you love.
HOW DO YOU HELP THEM?
We believe that education is the key to healing grief. Since the beginning, Wings has offered workshops, seminars, and presentations to individuals that are a mixture of education and support. We do not advise or counsel; but rather offer support based on our own experiences and knowledge we've acquired throughout our journey. Some services we provide include:
- Informal Talks
- Invited Speaking
- Grief Group Facilitation
- Workshops and Seminars
- One-on-One “How Can I Help You”
- Wings Magazine by Email—ELetter
- Professional Articles in Grief Digest
- Annual Spring Seminar (invited speaker)
- “When the Holidays Hurt” (Dec. workshop)
- Healing Your Grief from the Inside Out—a six week learning and support series for grief, loss and transition (spring and fall)
- The Other Side of Grief-Who Am I Now?—a grief work series (May—June)
