Who Does Your Organization Serve?

Winston's Wish, the charity for bereaved children, supports children, young people and their families after the death of a parent or sibling.

What Is Their Biggest Challenge?

At a time when adults are experiencing their own grief at the death of a partner, child, other family member or a friend, it can seem overwhelming to offer support to their own child or children.

How Does Your Organization Help?

We were the first charity to establish child bereavement support services in the UK and continue to lead the way in providing specialist child bereavement support services across the UK, including in-depth therapeutic help in individual, group and residential settings.

We have understood the impact of bereavement at a young age and have developed a range of practical support and guidance on bereavement to children, their families and professionals via a national helpline and publications for all ages.

We offer specialist support programmes for children affected by deaths related to murder, manslaughter, suicide or the military community.

Our National Freephone Helpline is a vital support tool for those coping with bereavement. It is manned by trained clinical practitioners and is free and confidential. Call 08088 020 021 for free advice and support.

Our publications and resources are designed to offer practical help and support to bereaved children and their families and will be of interest to parents or other family members, carers, teachers and other professionals.

Listening to sad music after losing a loved one, being diagnosed with a terminal illness, or finalizing a divorce might seem counterintuitive, but this somber sounding activity has been proven to help.

Nothing can prepare you for grief, nor is there a right or wrong way to deal with it, but sad music is an easily accessible and highly effective tool that can help you begin to heal.
